DISCOVERING THE SELF

 

From where to where,

I am wondering,

The journey,

Has taken me.

The unknown paths,

The unexpected twists & turns,

The fall and the rise.

From a naïve, innocent, child,

To a stupid, irritable tween,

A conscious, inhibited teen,

An unsure, confused young adult,

At once wise & foolish,

Very sure of the unsure,

Loving & hating all at once,

In short, a PARADOX!!!

 

Life makes sure,

You experience it all,

To value all that is good,

And to learn,

From all that went wrong.

It is a game,

You need to play,

Without any choice,

And ultimately master.

Attitudes and outlooks change,

Over the years,

Amidst  smiles & tears.

Through purging of emotions,

All of a sudden comes,

A moment of self-discovery.

Happily realizing

You’re no more the same,

 Everything about you, 

Replaced with something positive.

But what emerges,

Out of all this,

Is a value we bring,

To a life that is well lived!!!
