MY SPIRITUAL ASCENDANCE

 

God was an altar

I prayed from far

Visited the shrine

Every other day

 

Whenever I was wrong

I feared the wrath

Of the powerful God

And instantly asked to be pardoned

 

There was always

This feeling of

Being watched

By the omni-present.

 

Rituals were the way

I reached out to Him

That was the only way

I knew.

 

Then came this

Huge realization

Glorification of God

Was replaced

And I began to make myself

Worthy of my glorious God.

 

Thus, began my journey

Of self-purification

Of self-awareness

Of self-discovery

To take me

Closer and closer to my God

 

Serving and loving

His creations

Sharing and caring

Is the way to go

Closer to God.

And attain Him

 

God is

Nearer than the nearest

He resides in me

Withdrawing my senses

Just sat in Silence

My search stopped

And my spiritual ascendance began…
